Outreach Grants from Board of Missions
The Board of Missions of the Southern Illinois District is pleased to announce a new Outreach Grant opportunity for our congregations.
These grants are intended to encourage and support congregations as they share the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Our goal is to help bring the Good News to people in our communities and connect them to a local congregation.
Grant Amounts:
$1,000–$5,000
Eligible Projects Include:
- New outreach efforts
- Community engagement initiatives
- Projects with a clear Gospel focus
Ineligible Projects Include:
- Regular congregational operations
- Mercy work
- Events or projects without clear outreach and community-engagement goals
The application period for the 2026 Outreach Grants has closed. Check back in the winter for the 2027 applications.

Scholarship Forms
The Southern Illinois District annually has available a sum of money to be distributed as scholarship assistance to students of the District. Financial assistance is given to students preparing for full-time church work at a university or seminary operated by The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod.
First Time Applicants:
- District Financial Aid Application (Send Completed Form to the School Applicant is Attending)
- Scholarship Fund Application (Send Completed Form to the Southern Illinois District Office)
- Pastor’s Evaluation for Scholarship Recipient (Send Completed Form to the Southern Illinois District Office)
Returning Applicants:
- District Financial Aid Application (Send Completed Form to the School the Returning Applicant is Attending)
