Women's Day of Renewal In Collinsville
RESPONDING WITH
FAITH, based on Josh. 1:9, is the theme of the Women’s Day of Renewal planned
for Friday evening and Saturday, Feb. 3-4, 2012, at Good Shepherd Lutheran
Church in Collinsville, Ill. Women of all ages are invited to attend; the
registration dead- line is Jan. 15.
This year’s
keynote, Faith for our Freakouts, will feature two speakers, Phyllis Wallace
and Dr. Melanie Wilson. We live in a world threatened by fear, pressure,
stress, anger and anxiety. The unknown assails us. What will happen next? Can
we handle the next crisis or challenge? We doubt our own abilities and
potential and do not trust God’s promises. When apprehension dictates our
actions, we put God’s plan for our lives at risk.
Only one thing will
conquer our emotional reactions: faith in God’s presence, protection, power and
promises. We should never doubt what God can do with us when we trust and obey
Him. Phyllis and Melanie will help participants identify their own individual
fears, develop a game plan to seek God’s power and move forward toward
replacing numbing fear with a strong faith.
The registration
fees are: Friday and Saturday, $35; Friday only, $10; Saturday only, $25. A $15
late fee will apply after Jan. 15.
The fee includes a continental
breakfast, catered lunch and two workshops chosen from a variety of topics,
including songs of faith, combating stress, hands-on-servant event, marriage,
communication, couponing, decorating your mantel and the joy of being a woman.
